Despite the cold weather on Sunday, I was able to canvass some homes in Kendall County. It was my pleasure to walk with a fellow Republican meeting the voters and discussing the changes that need to be made. We met quite a few people who wanted a change; the same change as we want. On Monday, I was out canvassing my own neighborhood with my son while taking the family dog out for a walk.
It was good to see people outside again cutting their grass, the kids riding their bikes, and people walking their dogs. Just a year ago, the neighborhoods were quiet and neighbors had an invisible fence up so that they do not infected with the virus. Just a year ago, there were parents who banned children from playing with each other in case the virus spread as the media believed it would.
The fact remains that kids get sick but recover quickly. Unfortunately, children were locked up in the backyards staring at each other not able to play because one member in the household was not vaccinated.
I had enough of the belief that the vaccine was the answer to the problem. When all the sports stopped, Pritzker and his family were in Florida enjoying their freedoms. What he did not know was that depression in kids was increasing by the day. I know because my son was one of them. He changed. He didn’t want to do this anymore by living in fear by the government and not able to breathe.
We all waited for 2022 arrive. We waited for the chance to restore our state. We waited for people to stand up against the tyranny by creating that path for many to follow. We need to work together in order to restore our state.
Yesterday, my husband and I celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary. I could not imagine that 24 years ago when I said, “I do” and “death do us part” were words that meant a lot to me. It takes a lot to commit. I would not be running for an important office if I was not committed to education.
Don’t forget to vote in the June primary. Your vote does count!
