June 20, 2022 Koppers Campaign Newsletter
Kristen Koppers for Regional Superintendent of Schools
Only 8 days away from the June 28th primary. Since officially announcing my candidacy for Regional Superintendent of Schools in December 2021, I have met many parents who do not believe in public education anymore.
Unlike other political offices, this one focuses on the children. THEY are the reason this position exists. If all parents decide to take their children out of public education, teachers, staff, and administrators will lose their jobs. Additionally, offices like the Regional Superintendent of Schools will cease to exist.
However, there are still those who are hard core for my opponent who love social media (as they cannot say it to one’s face in person) who are trying to belittle me with false allegations and online bullying (yes, still). While their tactics are not working, they are only making themselves look foolish and childish. From what I’ve been told by the voters, they are hurting my opponent’t campaign more than anything.
For the record, I do not personally know my opponent. I, for one, will not attack him personally as this campaign is not about him. It’s about holding up the responsibilities of the job. Unfortunately, it took the plandemic to see that the job was not being done.
Back in February of 2022, I stood with the parents and staff members of Oswego 308 in 19 degrees to protest against mask wearing in the schools. We knew back in the summer of 2021, that there was an illegal mandate by the Governor violating the state law and due process.
But it is not just about mask wearing. With months of researching, I found that the some schools are not following Illinois State Laws or school laws when it comes to rights of the children.
The parents and students need someone to advocate for them. They need someone to stand with them not behind them. I know I cannot change everything. But I will ask the questions and find out why. I will listen to the parents and stakeholders. I will return phone calls and emails with answers.
As we get close to the primary, the candidates true colors are coming out.
This past week, I was a volunteer for Bible camp at my local church. Many parents within the Will, Grundy, and Kendall County areas brought their child(ren) to Spy Kidz week. It was a week long camp where the campers learned about God while participating in fun activities. This was my seventh year participating as a volunteer and my son’s seventh year being a camper and now a volunteer as well. Being a volunteer in the community is an important part to who I am. I have volunteered for over 30 years in every which way and form. I believe more volunteer opportunities are needed to be offered to parents, stakeholders, and students by the Regional Office of Education.
I stayed away from canvassing this past week due to the high temperatures and the fact that I wanted to commit to Spy Kidz week with the church and God.
With Spy Kidz over, Saturday started the campaigning once again as I was greeting fellow Republicans and voters at Prairie Fest in Oswego at the Kendall County Republican booth.
Yesterday, we spent Father’s Day going to church in the morning then participating in the Prairie Fest Parade. Hundreds of people lined the streets to celebrate their freedom once again. As I walked along the route, I introduced myself to the community members and children. At one point, I bent down on my knees to speak to a little girl. I introduced myself to her and told her that I would fix her education. She looked at me and said, “Thank You.”
This is why I fight. Despite the continuous false allegations, the constant bullying, and the few who are against me, I continue to stay in this election until the end.
Thank you to those who stood by me since I started this campaign. You are the reason why I want education to change. We need to protect our children and our rights.

Don’t forget my meet and greet on Tuesday, June 21 at River Hawk Brewing in Channahon. Unfortunately, Michael Rebresh will not be able to make it tomorrow.
