Happy Friday! We are almost half way through June with the 2022 Primary only 17 days away. Now is the time, if you have not already, to know where your polling place is, find your sample ballot, meet and greet the candidates on your ballot, and vote. I cannot stress enough the importance of attending the *FREE* meet and greets prior to the primary. For many of us, the primary is just as important as the November election as we need to win in June.
As a reminder, I am on the REPUBLICAN ballot. If you would like to see a change within the Grundy / Kendall County Regional Superintendent of Schools, be sure to pull the Republican ballot in June and vote for me.
If you are not sure how to retrieve your sample ballot, here are the links:
If you are not busy on Sunday, June 19 (Father’s Day), come on out to Prairie Fest in Oswego, IL for their annual parade. The parade starts off at 1 pm. Come on by and say hi.
While the election has me in several different places at once, I cannot help but share my excitement for Bible Camp next week. For seven years, I have volunteered for Spy Kidz at Mission Bible Church in Minooka, IL. This 8-hour week long camp has a volunteer group of over 200 adults, high schoolers, and junior high students, and over 500 campers from grades K-5. Those who volunteer and participate come from the surrounding communities of Will, Grundy, and Kendall County. It’s an honor to serve the community in this capacity. While the week is exhausting (stay tuned for pictures on my Facebook page), it’s a rewarding experience for me. I cannot help but feel thankful to all those who organize this camp each year and for letting me be a part of it.
I know canvassing is important with the primary so close, but being able to be a part of these kids lives during this week is equally important to me. Being a teacher and in the classroom for 20 years, I have seen how education has decreased. But learning is not always inside a building. The learning can come from everywhere and anywhere. For 34 years, I have volunteered in numerous ways from local to state to worldwide events.
Don’t forget to come on out to my *FREE* meet and greet on June 21 in Channahon (Will County). Candidates from Will, Grundy, and Kendall County will be there along with their literature.
If you would like to donate to my campaign in this last push, please visit my website: Koppers for ROE24. Every little bit helps to make a difference. You have not had a choice in over three decades in this position. It’s time the voters had a choice in who they want to advocate for them and their children. I want to be that person you can trust.
Best,
Kristen Koppers, M.A., M.Ed., NBCT
